Gemini

A collection by Benoît Gérard

The Gemini Collection.

Nine mirrors. One design language. Two layers of glass. Each piece pairs a primary form with a circular aperture, cut from 6mm Bronze Frosted Belgian glass. The mirror sits within the cut and lights from behind, reading equally as object and reflection.

The Design

Object first. Reflection second.

Each Gemini piece is conceived as a designed object before it is conceived as a mirror. Alice stands as a floor sculpture on a Cosentino ÉCLOS stone base. Alice Mini carries the same architectural language at tabletop scale. Alhena distills the collection to a single rounded form and one oval aperture. Gigi holds a single circle. Jumeau pairs two. Mercure widens the form. Twins modularises it. Leda elongates it. Vivo holds three apertures across a 76-inch wall.

The substrate is the constant. 6mm Bronze Frosted Belgian glass on every piece. The frosting carries the family's warm tone. Every piece is signed work, designed under one hand.

Designer's Notes

Letting the form do the talking.

Gemini was the first collection I drew for Claris on my own brief. I did not want to design another bathroom mirror line. I wanted to design objects that worked as mirrors, on walls that asked the mirror to do something.

The signature is paired form: a primary shape with a circular aperture cut through it. Alice stands as a floor sculpture on a Cosentino ÉCLOS base. Alhena holds one rounded form and one oval cut. Jumeau pairs two circles. Vivo carries three apertures across a 76-inch wall. The aperture is not ornament. It is what makes the piece sit on the wall as object.

Every piece is cut from 6mm Bronze Frosted Belgian glass. The frosting carries the family's warm tone. The aperture catches edge light. Without the frosting, the glass would read clinical. Without the cut, the form would sit flat.

The collection lives where the wall asks the mirror to lead. Hospitality lobbies. Residential foyers. Designer showrooms. Anywhere the room is built around its features.

Each piece should read as an object first, and a mirror second.

Questions

About the Gemini Collection.

Who designed the Gemini Collection?

Benoît Gérard, Creative Director at Claris Company, designed the Gemini Collection. Gemini is his first dedicated mirror line for the brand. Every piece in the collection is signed work.

Is the Gemini Collection lit?

Most Gemini pieces are non-illuminated sculptural mirrors. The design language is form-first: each piece pairs a primary form with a circular aperture, and the mirror sits within the cut. Several pieces, including Alice, integrate Bronze Frosted Belgian glass with a Cosentino ÉCLOS stone base. Configurations with integrated lighting are available through Concept Studio.

What glass does Gemini use?

6mm Bronze Frosted Belgian glass on every piece. The Bronze Frosted treatment is specific to Gemini and gives the collection its signature warm tone. Claris specifies low-iron Belgian glass across the brand for clarity and colour fidelity.

Can a Gemini piece be customised?

Yes. Every piece in the collection can be modified to specification: dimensions, finishes, lighting, sensors, glass. Custom builds carry the same five-year warranty as catalogue pieces and are handled through Concept Studio.

What is the ÉCLOS base on Alice?

Alice is mounted on a Cosentino ÉCLOS inlaid mineral surface base, available in ÉCLOS Ivora or ÉCLOS Phantome finishes. The stone base is the structural element. The two glass panels mount above it as the sculptural form.

Where are they made, and what is the warranty?

Gemini is crafted in Europe on Belgian Diamond ClearVision low-iron glass with AGC Mirox 3G silvering. Every piece is Certified to North American Standards and carries a five-year warranty.
