What is a low iron mirror?
A low iron mirror is built on float glass with most of the iron removed from the soda-lime mix. Iron is what gives ordinary glass its green tint, so removing it produces an ultra-clear substrate that reflects colour as it actually is. Why do standard mirrors look green?
Because of iron. The iron oxide in a standard float mix absorbs red light, so everything the mirror returns shifts slightly toward green and cool. You never notice it on a window; you notice it the second a face reflects in it. Skin cools. Whites drift. Greys pick up an edge of green. A lifetime of standard glass sets the expectation, so the shift becomes the baseline.

What is copper-free silvering?
Silvering is the reflective layer behind the glass, and its chemistry decides how the mirror ages. Traditional mirrors back the silver with copper, and copper is why old bathroom mirrors go black at the edges: humidity gets in, the copper degrades, and the mottling creeps inward.
